There’s so much to do and enjoy at Seven Pines, one of Jacksonville’s newest master-planned communities, that leaving the premises for other entertainment might sound like too much effort.
Not so! There’s something for everyone with these three activities you might not know exist near your new custom Florida home, and all three are family-friendly.
Check out these hidden gems near Seven Pines.
The Brumos Collection
Florida’s motorsports history is legion — land speed records were set at the turn of the 20th century on Ormond Beach sands, and NASCAR was birthed at and remains headquartered in Daytona Beach, approximately an hour south of Jacksonville.
Another motorsports legend is tucked right around the corner from Seven Pines — the Brumos Collection, an automotive racing museum less than 10 minutes and approximately 5.5 miles east of Seven Pines.
Priceless race cars are displayed without barriers in an easy-to-navigate layout. The museum highlights Jacksonville’s automative history with its throwback building design, and nods to Daytona International Speedway with an original Speedway artifact out front.
Visitors also learn the history of Jacksonville-based Brumos Racing, which fielded many winning Porsches in IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) competition.
The Brumos Collection is located at 5159 San Pablo Road South in Jacksonville.
Trek Trails at Aterro Park
Looking for a mountain biking fix? Seven Pines residents have one only 11 miles and approximately 20 minutes west of their community.
The Trek Trails at Aterro Park feature four manmade trails of varying length and difficulty: Broken Path, Flow-N-Go, Perimeter Trail and Wile-E-Coyote. You’ll find plenty of single- and multi-track options along with elevation changes, dirt surfaces and natural obstacles like trees.
Trails are open from sunrise to sunset, but note that they’re private property, not a public park, so be mindful of timing and a gate that closes each evening.
The Trails are managed by SORBA JAX — the Jacksonville chapter of the Southern Off Road Bicycle Association, which builds mountain biking trails in the metro area and is open to both donations and new members. SORBA JAX also hosts regular rides and competitive events.
The Trek Trails at Aterro Park are located at 4520 Sunbeam Road in Jacksonville.
Alhambra Theatre and Dining
Does dinner AND a show sound good? One of Jacksonville’s iconic experiences is so close to Seven Pines, you might be tempted to mountain-bike your way there.
Just kidding! You’ll want to clean up (comfortably, not stuffily) to enjoy a Broadway-caliber show and a three-course dinner prepared specifically for that show.
Alhambra Theatre and Dining has been a Jacksonville tradition since its 1967 debut, entertaining generations of Jacksonville residents and their guests. Per the theatre’s website, it’s also the United States’ oldest continuously operating dinner theater.
How’s that for awesome hidden-gem-ness? And all less than five miles and approximately 10 minutes north of your Seven Pines home.
The Alhambra Theater and Dining complex is located at 12000 Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville.
